CHILDREN'S RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Our Commitment
Children are central to our life here at UUCC, and we care deeply about our ministry to them. We are committed to creating a welcoming place where children learn to celebrate themselves, each other, and the diverse world around them. Please email our Director of Religious Education or call (804) 752-6005 to join us as an religious education Volunteer.
Children are invited "down front" during Sunday services for a special story and lesson.
Intergenerational Worship
Preschool children and older participate in the entire worship service on special Sundays that include child-friendly singing, chanting, stories, and rituals. While our children and youth often participate in worship each Sunday, they also lead worship from time to time.
How Can We Help You?
Please share your ideas, thoughts, and goals with your child's teacher, or Beth Clifton, Director of Religious Education..
How Can You Help Our Children and Youth?
Children are picked up from classes by 10:15 AM for the 9:00 service, and 12:15 PM for the 11:00 service. There are usually two adults in each classroom at all times to provide for your child's safety and well being. Teachers sign a "Code of Ethics" behavioral statement before they begin working with our children.
